PhD Student Opportunities

The Center for Science, Technology and Environmental Policy Studies (C-STEPS) in the School of Public Affairs at Arizona State University (ASU) is seeking PhD students in Public Administration and Policy who have a primary interest in science, technology or environmental policy.  Students will work on one or more funded research projects related to genetic resources, open data, science collaboration or human and social capital in science.  C-STEPS seeks at least one student to work solely on genetic resources and genomics policy.  Prospective students should view the different projects and research interests of C-STEPS at the website: https://csteps.asu.edu/.  Prospective students are also encouraged to contact Dr. Eric Welch, director of CSTEPS to discuss research interests.

The selected students would be expected to collaborate with C-STEPS faculty and postdocs, manage research projects, present at national conferences, write policy documents, and publish in academic journals. The disciplinary background is open but the successful candidate will have strong interests in academic research and an academic career.
