New Publication: The effects of electronic alert letters for internet surveys of academic scientists

As part of the SciOPS project, the CSTEPS team conducted an expirement to see if sending alert emails in advance of inviting people to participate in a survey had an impact on response rates. The team also explored if the amount of time between the email alert and email invitation mattered for response rates. The team decided to explore electronic alert letter effectiveness because survey research is a widely used tool across social science disciplines, that any insight into ways to improve response rates could be broadly useful.
